Tobis Portuguesa was created on June 3, 1932, in order to support and foster the development of Portuguese cinema, goal that kept during its 75 years of activity. ==History== Tobis originally focused its activity on film production and lab processing. In the meantime Tobis produced some of the most emblematic works of the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s, such as ''A Canção de Lisboa''. In 1955, the company merged with Lisboa Filme, - one of the country’s main film producers. The rights to its films were thus acquired by Tobis and included within the company’s film catalogue. From 2004 on, Tobis enlarged its spectrum of activities by investing in the acquisition of digital video transcription equipment. In 2005, Tobis acquired the capital stock of Concept Films and benefited from its equipment and technicians.
